Policy Aim

This policy is designed to express the commitment of Stretham Players as an association and service provider, to eliminate discrimination and to encourage and value diversity among its members and users, of our services.

Stretham Players recognises its responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and are committed to implementing them in full. The Society aims to promote a culture that embraces equality and diversity, ensuring all participants are involved and included in our plans, programmes and activities.

We aim to create an environment which respects and welcomes everyone. Bullying, harassment, disrespectful or discriminatory behaviour in any form will not be tolerated. This applies to the ‘protected characteristics’ named in the Equality Act 2010. (https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/15/contents)

 Responsibilities

  • Stretham Players understands that for equality to be achieved this policy must be embraced by all members and made available on this website.   

  • All members must ensure that their language and actions are consistent with the spirit, as well as the contents of this policy.

  • Responsibility for the implementation of this policy lies with the Stretham Players Committee as a whole.

  • Stretham Players aims to ensure that equality and diversity are central to all our activities.

  • Stretham Players will promote an environment where diversity and contributions of all members and partners are recognised, respected and valued in all that we undertake, ensuring equality in practice and promoting cohesion within the community.

Working with contractors, suppliers and partners

  • All suppliers, contractors, other individuals or organisation working alongside us will be made aware of and agree to comply with our equality and diversity policy while that work is undertaken.
     

Policy Review

To ensure best practices are meeting the aims and spirit of this policy, Stretham Players will:    

  • Discuss/review this policy regularly and adjust/develop an action plan if and where necessary.

  • Evaluate significant new/revised policies and procedures for their impact on equality
